I’m beyond excited to show you my first diamond wedding anniversary cake. Actually, this is the first of 2 in a row.
60 years people. Mr Bond and I are just about to celebrate 18 which is pretty great. But imagine 60 years.
It’s lovely to see a surge in family gatherings now that most of us have been vaccinated and life is opening up a little.
Bryan and Margaret’s family chose Llandudno for their special family celebration. They got in touch about a personalised cake for their diamond wedding and I happily delivered it to their hotel.
I wonder how many changes the happy couple have seen to Llandudno during their married life.
So I baked them a vanilla and jam madeira sponge – my bestselling choice – and covered it with Bridal White sugar paste. Then set about making pretty hand cut flowers for decoration along with embossed stripes and shiny pearls.
The cake is personalised with their names and the date of their wedding.
There’s something special about making a white on white cake. Pretty stunning, don’t you think?
It was a complete surprise to Bryan & Margaret – they knew nothing. One of the joys of being a Cake Maker is joining in with family surprises. I love being part of these special times and providing the “wow factor”.
“Thank you so much, the cake was amazing and tasted delicious. My parents loved it” Rachel & Family
Congratulation Bryan & Margaret. We look forward to your Platinum Wedding Anniversary!
Hmmm I wonder if the Palace will be in touch for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee next year. Probably not. Anyway I’m not I could handle the stress levels of that kind of cake.
I’m Judith. I’ve been caking since 2012. I also love to write, photograph, travel, drink coffee and read books. This is my cake blog where you’ll find recipes, and baking tips and all my latest cake projects.
