Sometimes I make cupcakes and they’re so pretty, and I love them so much that I can’t stop looking at them.
There’s something irresistible about a perfectly formed, aesthetically pleasing cupcake – that makes it almost too good to eat.
These little bike cupcakes …..
A colleague asked me to make them for a gift for another colleague who is also my colleague and friend! And I know you can guess, it’s only the wonderful Debbie from Llandudno Bike Hire. I’ve known Debbie probably a couple of years now. She has a lovely shop opposite Caffe Neros in Llandudno where she rents out a range of bikes, including electric style bikes, to enthusiastic locals and visiting tourists who are keen to circumnavigate the Great Orme.
I see quite a lot of Debbie, probably due to the large amount of time I spent sipping cappuccinos in Caffe Neros. She’s been a great support and a lovely friend as long as I’ve known here. She is simply evangelical about my cakes and tells everyone about them. Sometimes when I have a few left over I pop them down to her for an after-work treat and she always smiles and then wonders how she will get them home on her bike!
There’s something about the green, pink and purple that works together so well. I tried to make the toppers look like wheels – did you see what I did there? They have a very generous portion of buttercream and I so love the simple neat swirl.
Don’t you just love them?
