A beginner’s guide to caking up your business

Have you thought about the benefits of cake to your business. If you think bringing cake to the office is a frivolous gesture, you might want to reconsider.  10 years of servicing businesses with smart branded cupcakes, decorated tiered cutting cakes and gift boxes for clients has demonstrated amazing benefits for the business we’ve worked with. Benefits that go way beyond flour and eggs, that can become part of your marketing strategy and increase your bottom line.

So how can cakes work for your business?

Cupcakes for clients:

  • Cake makes everyone relax and smile.

  • Cupcakes will get people talking and sharing their experience.

  • They’ll remember your business and look forward to coming back.

  • It will tap into the emotion that a sweet treat generates - the holy grail of marketing - and create a happy association in their mind.

  • Your cupcakes will be highlight of their day / week.

  • The mighty cupcake will strengthen and grow your business relationships.

  • They’ll make your business stand out and help build your brand.

Cupcakes for staff:

  • It’s a little thing that says a lot.

  • It will make them feel valued and rewarded.

  • It will be a nice surprise on an otherwise ordinary day.

  • It will contribute to job satisfaction.

  • It will get them talking outside the office.

  • It will strengthen staff relationships and team building.

Here’s my 5 tried and tested ways to cake up your business -

1. Reward your hardworking staff

Cupcakes are a genius way of rewarding your staff and reminding them how valued they are. Everyone loves a cupcake with their morning coffee. It’s the highlight of the day, maybe even the week, and that cheeky sugar rush will make everyone smile. We can create sugar toppers with your logo in a range of tasty flavours. We can match our colour scheme to your business branding and include some gluten free cakes so no one feels left out.

It’s a little thing, but it says a lot.

2. Say a sweet thank you to your clients

How about giving your client an unexpected box of cupcakes when they pick up their new car?  Or next time you must deliver some papers to your client’s office, you could include cupcakes with their business branding.

There are so many ways you can introduce cake into your business strategy. It will make them smile, reinforce relationships and help build your brand.

3. Celebrate your business birthday

We love business birthdays! We’ve helped brand-new businesses reach their 1-year anniversary with a cake to share with clients and staff.

We loved baking zillions of cupcakes for the Great Orme Tramway’s 120th birthday with a VIP reception last summer.  Here’s an interesting fact – these cupcakes were baked in my Great Orme cottage built 120 years ago to house the tramway drivers. They had just a 5-minute walk down the hill to their work. What a celebration!

Clients will often choose a bigger cake so they can have that “cutting moment” – great for PR and your social media - and some additional cupcakes for folk to take home with them in individual boxes.

4. Celebrate the launch of a new product, rebrand or a shop opening

Branded Cupcakes go down a treat at any kind of business launch. You might have a new training programme, a rebranding of your business, or the opening of a new shop or office.

If you give your clients and visitors a stand-out photogenic cupcake, they will do your marketing for you. Before you know it there’ll be photos all over social media and your business hashtag will be trending.

5. Stand out at a conference or exhibition

Think annual meetings, networking events, party conferences, campaign launches, trade shows, College open days.  If your exhibition stand has a tiered display of free branded cupcakes – potential clients will move in quickly and they WILL remember you.

We can supply the cake, provide the stand and set everything up for you on the day of the Event. One less thing for you to worry about on what will be a very busy day.
