The one where Margaret Rose turns 90

Yellow roses for friendship, joy, warmth and welcome. All the emotions I felt when I walked into Margaret’s lovely home to deliver her special birthday cake. 3 generations of family sitting around sipping coffee and tucking into warm danish pastries. Birthday breakfast was well underway, and everyone was excited for the 90th celebrations that lay ahead.

We baked a large lemon sponge filled with zesty lemon curd for Margaret’s special day. We decorated with hand cut flowers in daffodil and butter yellows with shades of cream and feature roses front and centre.

Margaret had a super clear idea of what her cake would look like and I was able to design something that she loved and almost brought her to tears. What a lovely reaction and what a lovely family.
